Made to order in the UK these pond liners are manufactured from a heavy duty fibreglass lay up using Lloyds approves isophthalic resin and gel coats used in boat building construction.

This is a large pond at 295 x 199 cm overall and a depth of 76 cm. This can be supplied in Green or Black. The unit will weigh around 60 kgs. This has a 24 cm wide shelf on 3 sides 25 cm from the top and the base of the pond is 76 cm from the top. There is a 10 cm flange to the top all around the pond, the shelves are on 3 sides

The pond is tapered so the top is marginally bigger we are giving the base dimensions. The drawing shows the outside of the pond so you can see the hole you will need to dig.

Fibreglass pond liners are far longer lasting than cheap preformed plastic or fabric liners and if you are building the pond in the last thing you want is a cheap liner to fail.

Fibreglass pond liners are incredibly strong but given there are 5 tonnes of water going in to the pond it is essential that the base of the unit sits on solid ground with at least 6" of WELL PACKED DOWN sand at the base. The sides need to be packed externally against the earth with sand and that watered down to make sure the unit is fully supported. You MUST NOT let the shelves around the edge "suspend" the pond base off of the well packed down sand in the bottom of the hole, the Base has to take the load and the shelves have to be supported as well.

Make sure there are NO STONES or other sharp objects that will press against the outside of the pond. Remember there is 5 tonnes of water in this unit when full and that is a lot of force downwards and outwards ! There are lots of tutorials on line about installing these units, MAKE SURE you watch them !
